TestimonialsWe Sign Babies and Toddlers is a comprehensive introduction to communicating with the signs of ASL for early childhood learners. Its most striking attribute is the promise it offers for enhancing the quality and pleasure of interacting within families. Dr. Marilyn Daniels, Professor of Speech Communication at Penn State University and the author of Dancing with Words: Signing fro Hearing Children's Literacy Marilyn Daniels, Ph.D. Associate Professor Department of Speech Communication Penn State University Anyway--love the video-I have shown it to everyone who will sit in front of the tube with us. You guys did a remarkable job! It looks wonderful!!!!! Tracy D. Dear Mike, Here is the scenario of first viewing your videos: There were two 3 year old and a 4 1/2 year old all busy with their own projects in the room. When I put the Play Time and Fun Time videos in, they all slowly gathered around intently. In no time, they were all singing, jumping, dancing, and signing with all the songs. Thank you for creating such engaging products that encourage my children to learn more signs and have more fun, as well as teach the new-to-signing toddler in an inviting and delightful way. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to further support your company. Laura Greer I just watched it with my mom and WE LOVE IT! It is so adorable, colorful, accessible, and fun! Congratulations! I will soon be placing a large order :) Jessica Finally, a video that all 3 of my children love to watch together and they are learning a valuable second language. My kids continue to sing and sign together even after the video is off. Nina, Preschool Teacher & Mother Thank you for offering such great products. My 4 year old was introduced to the series through our library. It was amazing how quickly she picked up learning numbers which I had been working with her on once she watched the numbers video several times. Keep up the good work! Creative Memories Consultant We Sign Babies & Toddlers is a clear, comprehensive tool for parents to learn basic ASL vocabulary. Seeing clips of real children signing--spontaneously--is especially motivating. Lora Heller, MS, MT-BC I want to tell you that I *love* the "We Sign" Video!! We have the "Old McDonald" and Natalie loves it. We also have another signing video but we like "We Sign" ten times better because of the music. It's almost entirely set to music and keeps Natalie dancing & captivated. Natalie (&I!) are very musically inclined and it's more fun to learn with "We Sign" than anything else we've tried. She started picking up the signs in the video within a week! Thank you!!! Cheryl, Mother of Natalie We are already recommending the series to everyone we know. Delaney already needs a daily dose of the Animals video (“Bat, bat fly under my hat…!”). It's such a neat opportunity and it's too bad more people don't already know about it. It made her less frustrated when she was trying to communicate with us, she was able to tell us in sign language what was wrong, did her ears hurt, and what she was saying was fabulous. Anthony I think it's a fun way for them to communicate in another way, she doesn't get as easily frustrated and it gives her a great sense of self-esteem. Kiyo Teaching your child to sign helps the child and the parent to be less frustrated. Darielle I think it's been a real benefit to the whole family that she is not frustrated when she's explaining something. She can show me right away something she's wanting. She's been able to communicate so much better and so much earlier than I thought she'd be able to, using signs. Penny Malley One day, Jaspers teacher asked if his little sister was talking yet and he replied, yes she is, she is talking with her hands. It's another way to participate in their world besides just talking to them or throwing them up in the air. It's just another thing that you are doing. Julia When he first started speaking he would say more or milk while he was also signing the word and that completely convinced me that it was not going to harm his vocabulary growth, it actually enhanced it. Harlen The thing I love about signing is that the signs are incredibly intuitive, they make so much sense to me. It ‘s really nice to pick up a new skill that's also easy to learn. Julie It's exhilarating to see your child learn something new and their mind open up and see how the light up when the do something right. You feel like you are really accomplishing something. Mike I would tell anyone interested in signing with their children to start at any time. I started at 7 months with my baby and 2½ years with our older daughter. There was an instant benefit with our 2½ year old because when she couldn't remember a word she could sign it and because I was signing with her I understood what she wanted. It helped me meet her need and increased her confidence because she could express herself. Teri It's another way to bring us all closer. Bruce Hi! I love your products, have two of them. I would love a catalog for Christmas shopping. Denise T. My daughter is 2 and has enjoyed many of the We Sign tapes since she was about 9 months old. That is my problem... Our playtime wore out so I just replaced it with the DVD and also purchased Fun Time too. She was watching Santa\'s Favorite Christmas Songs earlier today. Teresa U. I would very much like for you to send me a free catalog!! I have been looking for videos that I can use in my classroom. Emily M. We used your songs for our end of the year pre-k program what a hit!!! Kay M. I love your products and recommend them to the participants in my classes. Lisa F. My 3 year old daughter, Katilyn and 6 year old son, Jordan absolutely love your We Sign videos. I have so far purchased 3 and they have held their attention as well as taught them sign language. I have enjoyed them myself and have become very interested in learning more sign language. Umeka S. We LOVE the Fun Times DVD. For now, I'm going to place an order for Babies and Toddlers, Play Time, Animals and Rhymes. Sabrina will be sooooo excited!!! That should get us through the Fall (maybe:-)) and then we'll add some more to her Christmas list. Anne I baby-sit one more child also and she really loves watching it. The tapes would make perfect gifts!!! Wanda A It is amazing how much the kids have learned and what a wonderful way to teach them another language. My children love them and I wanted to get a few of them for their Christmas gifts. Terri B. Thank you for sending me the We Sign Babies & Toddlers video set. I viewed both videos and am quite impressed with them. It is wonderful to see this kind of information becoming available to parents. Anything we can do to promote early language development in children is a positive step toward their individual growth and development. As an audiologist who sees a number of children with varying degrees of hearing loss, I know first hand the many negative consequences a child can experience as a result of delayed and/or limited language development. These videos can provide parents of children with normal hearing with a wonderful tool to use to enhance their preverbal development. The videos also can help educate both parents and children about other modes of communication. Thanks again for sending the videos Lisa Lucks Mendel, Ph.D., CCC-A Associate Professor, Audiology School of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology The University of Memphis I have been thrilled with how learning sign language has allowed my two girls to express emotion and expand their vocabulary. The video tape allowed me to share with my family and friends the benefits of teaching sign language to children. I also think the first tape will be a wonderful introduction to anyone not familiar with sign language for children. The vocabulary tape was especially wonderful for us as it allowed us to practice some signs we knew, expand our sign language vocabulary, and teach my husband signs so he can sign with us. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about my reactions to the video. Sincerely, |
