At WESIGN DOC, trust and compliance are at the core of our digital signing framework. Our eSignature technology aligns with the requirements defined in EU Regulation 910/2014 (eIDAS) — the legal foundation that governs electronic identification and trust services across the European Union.

Each signature executed through WESIGN DOC is designed to provide:

• Full Legal Recognition – Accepted across all EU member states and EEA countries.

• Trusted Verification – Validated through the European Union Trusted Lists (EUTL), confirming authenticity and non-repudiation.

• Document Integrity – Ensures no modifications can occur after signing, protecting all parties involved.

• Long-Term Validation (LTV) – Enables future verification of signed records, even years after the signing event.

When opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader or any compatible verification software, WESIGN DOC–signed documents display a confirmation message stating “Signed and all signatures are valid.”

This status confirms that the signature’s source of trust has been obtained from the EU Trusted List, guaranteeing compliance with European trust service requirements.

Legal Foundation: The eIDAS Regulation (EU No. 910/2014)

The eIDAS Regulation establishes a unified legal standard for electronic signatures and trust services across the EU, ensuring that digital transactions carry the same enforceability as handwritten signatures.

Under eIDAS, there are three legally recognized types of electronic signatures:

• Electronic Signature (ES) – A simple digital indication of consent.

• Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) – Uniquely linked to and capable of identifying the signer, ensuring data integrity.

• Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) – The highest level of assurance, created using a qualified certificate issued by a recognized EU trust service provider.

According to Article 25 of eIDAS,

“A qualified electronic signature shall have the equivalent legal effect of a handwritten signature.”

This means that a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) created and verified under eIDAS is legally binding and recognized across all EU member states.

WESIGN DOC uses a qualified certificate that conforms to EU Regulation 910/2014 Annex III, ensuring compliance with the strictest legal and technical standards defined by the European Commission.

This guarantees that every electronic signature executed through WESIGN DOC is:

• Qualified and legally binding under eIDAS law.

• Recognized across all EU and EEA member states.

• Cryptographically secure and resistant to alteration or tampering.

• Traceable and auditable through embedded signature details and timestamps.

Each signed document includes verification metadata, confirming signer identity, signature time, and validation status — all traceable to an EU-trusted source (EUTL).
